Parents and students

It's so important to know where you are going. Obviously, if you wanted to go from Houston to Los Angeles, you would take the time to find out which roads go there and what route you would take.   In the same way, a vision for student ministry must be consistent with God's vision for His people.   There is a passage in Malachi 4 that helps us gain some insight into what is pleasing to God.

Listen to these words: " Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the Lord. He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse."    ( Malachi 4:5-6)

So, when I pray for the families of Champion Fellowship I think about this verse. I pray that children would turn back and have meaningful relationships with their parents and I pray for parents to love and nurture their children.    This is an essential part of the youth ministry at Champion Fellowship ... prayer that this verse would be a reality.   ( not the curse part..but the restoration of hearts part)
